Travel Highlights: Melbourne to Adelaide via the Great Ocean Road & Grampians

The Great Ocean Road is usually on the top of the list of things to see in Australia but there’s much more to visit in this part of Victoria than just the spectacular winding coast line. After a 3 day trip around the south eastern tip of Australia, Mathilde Putnier from France shared her impressions of the tour and what incredible wildlife she saw along the way. It’s sure to be one of her most memorable experiences in Australia.

That’s three amazing days with the tour where you are directly in contact with nature. It departs from Melbourne, meeting the guide and the group in the bus. Then the tour starts with a stroll in The Otway Rainforest to find koalas, parrots and kangaroos. Next thing you will see is the breathtaking 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and London Bridge before having dinner together at the restaurant.

The day after you’ll admire the amazing sunrise in Warrnambool coastal walk where horses do some hydrotherapy and seals are just waking up. During the afternoon you’re going to Grampian National Park to learn about the aboriginal culture and history and discover the awesome McKenzie Falls. This place is amazing to see wildlife really close and especially kangaroos, wallabies and emus. For dinner you will have a delicious Aussie BBQ and spend a good time with the people that you met.

For the last day, you wake up early and you start with the last walk of the tour. You’ll go to the top of a spectacular point with a stunning lookout. Then the group is divided in two. One is going to Adelaide and other half is heading back to Melbourne. For those who are going to Adelaide, the trip continues with a stop at the Pink Lake Reserve. Stunning place! The trip is almost over, just few hours before your final stop in Adelaide.
